The End

The end of school, that is. I struggled in the attempt to summarize my thoughts about the year. I would say, my best thus far. But that really doesn't tell you much. So, I had my students write down their favorite memories. Who better than them to say? Here's the top 10.

10. Recess
9. History--learning about Sargon the Great, Cyrus, Julius Caesar, Sparta and imitating all these stories at recess.
8. Field trips to the Shedd Aquarium, Kline Creek Farm, etc.
7. Andrew's Gingko poem, "My name is Greg the Gingko tree/My seeds smell bad but look at me/Yellow leaves of banana hue/My seeds a mystery/Juicy skin for you..."
6. Math Meeting, "Start at 260, count backwards by 13's".
5. Laughing together during narration and talking about history
4. Snack time
3. Nature Study, painting the Ginkgo and River Birch trees
2. Writing together
1. My boys. and 2 girls. =)

 and.... recess. Always wins, can't fight that.

And now....SUMMER!
